"In my work as somatic coach I found a powerful and life-changing way of enabling people to reconnect to their body, to their power and their own unique way of being." Christina Neumaier
Originally I'm from Salzburg in beautiful Austria where I started a career as art historian. In 2010 I moved to Berlin to establish myself in the art scene.
In 2012, before I tried a first session of the Grinberg Method, I was very disconnected from myself and my body, and I was living very much in my head. I felt lost, exhausted and deeply unhappy with my work as an art historian and with myself. For more than one year, I had already looked for a paid job in the art world, and although I loved writing about art and being inspired by the different way of seeing life through the artist's eyes, I missed a deeper connection to and meaning in this professional life. This state of being was expressed physically through a cough that lasted for 2 months, a pressure on my chest and severe neck tension. I felt like a big failure, not knowing what to do next. I remember my first session very clearly and the revealing sensation of feeling my body again, letting go of the need to control and just experiencing what was there - pain and sadness. I had the feeling that my body got exactly what it needed. The experience of beeing seen at once with all my pain, frustration and vulnerability was something I had wished forand never experienced before in such a powerful and relieving way – because I hadn't dared to look at my pain but felt how important it was to go there.
This experience had such a strong influence that I decided to start the 3 years study 2 months later. In January 2016 I finished the studies and I love eyery day of my work that gives me the opportunity to touch people at their core and see them grow and break through old walls of fear and pain to gain more personal freedom. I feel blessed by being able to share this gift every day with other people.
My vision is to empower as many people as possible to more personal freedom, easiness in life and connection to themselves and their surrounding. We are all bodies but we often forget that and live in our heads and experience life through our minds only. We then lose our ability to perceive what we really want and need and to connect to our inner wisdom. I truly believe that, if we become body again, we live in inner peace, connect to our hearts and wishes and live a more fulfilled and satisfied life.
I am fascinated by the ability of us human beings to grow consistently and learn new things. The beauty of our body and how every little part is perfectly tuned together touches me deeply. I think it's pure magic.
In my work as somatic coach I found a powerful and life-changing way of enabling people to reconnect to their body, to their power and their own unique way of being. The possibility of touching people's life in such a way excites me in every single session.
